My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. While the rooms were clean and located conveniently, the presence of BBQ smoke when I opened the window from the nearby disco was a letdown. The main corridor being a walkway to other rooms was not ideal. On the positive side, the hotel's cleanliness was commendable.

Rooms

Despite being clean, the room's proximity to the disco meant being filled with BBQ smoke when I opened the window. The room's location on a small corridor that acted as the main walkway to other rooms was not ideal, but it met cleanliness standards.
Service
6.0
The staff, unfortunately, were not overly friendly and even continued to ignore us during our stay. Witnessing a staff member being told off right in front of us at the dining area was uncomfortable. On a positive note, the beauty of the staff somewhat made up for the lack of friendliness.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location was a great starting point for walks and hill climbing, with staff efficiency and a comfy bed adding to the positive experience. However, the cold atmosphere and having to wait for services marred the overall sense of convenience. The adjacent monastery was a highlight of the location.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was below expectations, likely the worst I have had. The average quality and small servings did not match the anticipated standards. I don't think I'd recommend choosing the hotel for its dining options.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were lacking in some aspects, with the dining layout and size of coffee cups being subpar. While there were some homemade rolls, they were not enough to make up for the overall lacking experience.

The hotel is nestled in a beautiful spot right at the foot of Glendalough, offering a peaceful ambiance. The rooms were perfect clean, but a bit cold; however, the view of the little stream just under our window with mountains in the backdrop was stunning. The service was top-notch with excellent customer service, although a minor incident occurred. The location is superb, set in the Wicklow mountains within walking distance of Glendalough, though some areas could use a little sprucing up. The dining experience was a mix of positives and negatives. Overall, a lovely stay with room for improvement.

The hotel offers a lovely location at the foot of Glendalough, making it a peaceful and beautiful retreat. While the rooms may show signs of wear and tear with tired décor, the service is excellent and friendly. The dining experience could be improved, but the idyllic location and proximity to Glenalough are unbeatable.

My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The location was fantastic, right within the Glendalough National Park, but the overall feel of the place fell short of expectations. The rooms felt like a motel despite the hotel price, and the service was lacking, highlighted by the cold food and unattended issues. While the dining was average, the beautiful surroundings couldn't compensate for the subpar experience.

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The location was perfect for exploring Glendalough on foot, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. However, the view from my room directly onto the wedding room's canopy roof wasn't ideal, and the dining experience left much to be desired despite the convenient location near the Glendalough information center.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of good and bad experiences. The room was pleasant, clean, with a nice view, and the bathroom was superb. However, I wished for different rooms during each stay. The service from the staff was excellent, especially Niamh on reception, who was attentive to our needs. The location was great for those who enjoy walking and getting away from the hustle and bustle, being close to the Glendalough Monastic City. The dining experience was a letdown with cold food and limited options, but the facilities were satisfactory.

My stay at the hotel was a bit of a mixed bag. The rooms had a clear view of the forest, but they felt more like a motel for the price of a hotel. Despite the initial chilliness that required multiple calls to reception with no follow-up, the staff did not promptly address the issue until I spoke with a manager the next day. Breakfast service also had its flaws, requiring me to request plates and replenishment of items. However, the location within Glendalough National Park was serene and ideal for walkers or those seeking a peaceful retreat.
